Louise commenced her career in childcare as a Residential Social Worker for Boys and Girls Welfare Society in 1997. She worked in various residential units with looked after children from the age of 5 to 16 years.

In 2001, Louise completed her DipSW and took up a post as a Family Placement Officer for Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council. Her role was to recruit, assess, train and supervise foster carers. During this time, Louise completed her PQ1 at Salford University. In September 2004, Louise took up a new post in Trafford as an Adoption Social Worker working a split caseload of adults and children.

The adult work involved training, assessing and supporting adopters, with the children work involving completing Form E’s, family finding and supporting children through the transition of foster care and into adoption. In December 2005, Louise joined Lorimer Foster Services as a Supervising Social Worker, supervising foster carers and supporting placements.

Her role changed in January 2007, and currently Louise assesses all prospective foster carers and supports them through the process of assessment and panel.
