I graduated in 2001 with a BSC degree in Psychology, specialising in Child Development and Evolutionary Psychology. I began my career in social care in 2002 working as a Community Care Practitioner attached to a psychiatric hospital in Suffolk, where I coordinated packages of care for patients with chronic and enduring mental health problems. I then went on to work in various positions within adult social care whilst completing my social work qualification.

I completed my course and became a qualified social worker in 2005. Since then I have worked within Children and Young People’s Services as a social worker in Assessment and Family support teams in Suffolk and Tameside, dealing with Child Protection and Looked After Children, before joining the team at Lorimer in 2008.”
